Metal Injection Molding (MIM)

At AmeriTi Manufacturing, titanium injection molding refers to a powder metal (PM) process where titanium powder is mixed with binders to make a feedstock that can be injected into a mold. The injected part is subsequently processed to remove the binders and thermally treated to make a fully dense titanium part.
For larger parts with little finishing required.
Expendable wax patterns are created that are lost in the process to create a mold that yields an exact replica of the pattern. Due to the loss of the wax, this process is often referred to as the “lost wax process”
Press and Sinter
The most cost-effective approach for small parts with simple geometric shapes.
Press and Sinter is essentially a two step process whereby titanium powder is compacted into shapes and heated in a vacuum to cause the particles to bond or “sinter” to full density.
